Physicians require 8 hours of training to apply to the drug enforcement agency for a waiver to prescribe buprenorphine one of three medications approved by the fda for the treatment of opioid use disorder. This activity will allow pas to fulfill the 8 hour portion of the 24 hour mat waiver training requirement. Providers clinical support system pcss is a national training and clinical mentoring project developed in response to the prescription opioid misuse epidemic and the availability of pharmacotherapies to treat opioid use disorder.
